2Disappointing  Jul 15, 2009
By Andy Jack "LiveLion"
Yes, this bottle is BPA free. Unfortunately, the metal top shown in the photo is not included with this item, and that's the main reason I chose this particular bottle. I've used these bottles before, and they're difficult to clean, especially the top that WAS included- and it's also hard to get even a mouthful of water when the bottle is full (with the plastic top).
No mention was made about the top in the text for this item, so I naturally assumed it would be as shown in the pic. Yes, disappointing. : (

It is a pretty bottle, but the convenient drinking lid appears to be faux!
There is no actual hole for any water to come out.

4My favorite!  Jan 09, 2012

I've been using these bottles for a few years. I used to buy them from Whole Foods until I would lose them, and then buy another. Now I'm not in the area. I think they're cheaper at Whole Foods, too.

The one I received from Amazon definitely had the drinking hole, you just twist the knob, and then the water can come out. It also has a clear plastic top on top of that that you can open and close. I'm wondering if maybe they got defective items?

The cons of this bottle are that occasionally you can get a leaky one, and yes, they are hard to clean. If you're using them for anything but water you're being pretty risky as it would take your best sponge on a stick and a lot of extra time to get anything organic out of the ridges in the bottle. I usually just use them for a week and then dip them in some boiling water for disinfecting purposes.

Not sure if they're dishwasher safe, haven't tried it! :)
