I keep hearing horror stories about plastic water bottles and I get shocked (with an electical charge) just about every time I touch metal so I started looking into glass water bottles since I drink tons of water everyday. I keep this on my desk at work and it's great because it's so big that I don't have to constantly go refill it. I probably refill it once a day while at work. However, the down side of it being so big is that it's heavier and it's not very travel friendly. I put it into the cup holder in my car once and it was so tall that my arm kept bumping against it, which did not make for safe driving, so I stopped doing that. I've also noticed that (especially when it's less full), you have to tilt your head back so much to take a sip of water (due to how tall/ long it is) that that's another reason why it's not safe to use this while driving. Also, it's unsafe to leave it in the car because the glass heats up so much that it would be too hot to touch. It's also so tall that you have to be careful to not knock it over. I've been using it for about a year now and it works great for me (since I work around all the negative aspects of it)! The plastic cap fits perfectly and I've had no problems with it. I wash it in the dishwasher because it's a bit difficult to wash by hand (since the mouth opening is so small and the entire bottle is so long and narrow). You would need to buy some type of a special brush with a very long thin (like wire) handle to clean it by hand. I gave one to a friend because she was also concerned about using plastic water bottles but she accidentally broke hers when she set it on a wooden floor at her exercise class and someone tipped it over and it shattered. She said it was not easy to clean up and so she did not want to use it again (when I offered her a second one). Hope this helps and happy shopping!

The bottles arrived in good shape. No cracks or broken glass. I really like them a lot, but the only issue is cleaning them since they are so tall and the spout is kinda narrow. It's a little bit of a pain, but that would be the only negative aspect. Everything else about them is fantastic.

Husband loves them...brings them to work...good substitute to plastic although hard to clean. Most bottle brushes aren't long enough to clean it.

I've searched high and low for a glass bottle. I love the shape and the water tastes much better in glass compared to anything else I've tried. For safety reasons, I highly suggest you buy the aquakoozy that goes with it.

These decanters are great!! We have 12 of them and use three at a time every day: My husband loves Propel crystals and these bottles are the best for making and storing his sports drinks. We store 3 in the door of our fridge and he rotates through them - as one empties, I fill another, clean the used one (easy to clean with long bottle brush). These bottles are very high quality and have never leaked. Plastic is aweful because it contains chemicals that leach into the liquid stored in them (one of many being xenoestrogens)that mess up hormones and/or the chemical balance in the body. So glass is great - even if it is a little heavier and you have to be more careful not to drop it...it's healthy and its worth it.
